I have taken so long to write this post. After some sicknesses and travels, I am finally getting to it.
Thank you for all your wonderful comments both online and offline about my new Craft Room. It was truly a rewarding space to create.
From my previous post on the Craft Room, I couldn’t help but tweak it. It does not look too different but again, here is the “Before” and “After”.
And as promised, here is the breakdown of how this space was created:
Paint: I am blessed to have inherited a utility room full of used and unused paints from the previous owners. I found a quart of this tranquil blueish/greyish color called Behr Pastel Base No.3500 Semi-Gloss. If it wasn’t for my $0.00 budget, I would have went out and bought more to finish the whole room but I think it turned out nice as an accent wall.
Furniture: Desk, chair, baskets and pillow were all items I “shopped” around the house. The desk was actually a computer desk that had a pull-out table for the keyboard. I removed that piece.

Lighting: I brought in this standard metal desk lamp from the utility room. I do not like this lamp. I tried to hide it behind my jute vase. Eventually I would like to replace it with something more feminine and fitting but this will do for now. And I have to be honest. I did spend money on an extension cord to bring in lightning. There, the secret is out. This Craft Room cost $2.59 and not $0.00!
Décor: All the “décor” you see are items I already had. My “I DO” letters are from my wedding. The candle holders were a gift. I topped them with fake hydrangea and accessorized with crystal branches from a wedding favor. (It pays to save wedding favors!)
I added grey cardstock paper to the backing of an unused picture frame and inserted some of my favorite cards and added a “sentimental”. It is a congratulatory note from former President George W. Bush and Laura
For my “gift wrapping station” my inspiration for storage came from Thrifty Décor Chick’s idea. I also categorized and hung my gift bags. One of the baskets up top holds ribbons, bows, tissue paper and labels so all my gift wrapping items are in close proximity.
All my other craft items are organized in either the baskets up top or in the desk.
When I do have extra cash lying around, I would like to re-upholster the chair and accessorize the walls a bit more. But for now, Mrs. BLB is happy with her woman cave! And Mr. BLB is happy with Mrs. BLB $2.59 $0.00 woman cave.

Looks so much more inviting now! I sure wish my craft room was as organized!
